Microsoft introduces new email sending limits

Microsoft has announced the introduction of new email sending limits for all corporate users as part of a broader industry move to crack down on spam and bulk messaging. These new restrictions, set to take effect this year, will limit the number of external emails that can be sent daily from within an organisation using Microsoft 365.

The change aligns with similar steps taken by Google and reflects increasing pressure on tech providers to protect inboxes from mass, unsolicited communication. While it supports a more secure and compliant digital environment, the update could present operational challenges for businesses that rely on high-volume email communications.

Mercury clients are protected

The good news for Mercury clients: Thanks to our close partnership with Microsoft, Mercury users benefit from a 12-month exemption from these new limits. This means there will be no immediate disruption to your email workflows, giving you time to prepare for the long-term changes ahead.

We'll continue to monitor developments and will keep you informed as more details emerge. For now, Mercury users can continue operating as normal, with peace of mind.
